Figure on up to about an hour from central Marrakech or from Menara Airport, give or take, depending on how the traffic is moving out of town and exactly where you start. Most of that hour runs on smooth tarmac heading southwest, away from the crowded medina and into open country.

The scenery changes fast. Palm groves and roadside villages thin out into rolling, rocky hills long before the camp comes into view. The pavement takes you most of the way. Then it stops, and the route drops onto an unpaved desert piste for the final approach.

That last section is where knowing the road actually counts. The track gets loose, dusty, and rutted, and it reads completely differently at dusk than it does at noon. Where we pick you up

Menara Airport

Flying in? We watch your flight, so an early touchdown or a delayed one will not leave you stranded or rushing. Your driver stands in the arrivals area with a name sign, easy to spot the second you clear the terminal. From there you head straight out to Caravan by Habitas.

Riads and the medina

Plenty of riads sit deep inside the old medina, where no car can reach the front door. We collect you at the nearest car-accessible point and settle the meeting spot with you beforehand. Not sure where that point is? Send us your riad name and we will work out the logistics before your travel day.

Anywhere in Marrakech city

Staying in Gueliz, Hivernage, the Palmeraie, or somewhere else entirely? We collect you from your hotel, apartment, or address anywhere in the city. Drop us the location when you book and we confirm the pickup details with you.

Why not just take a street taxi or a ride-hailing app?

A grand taxi you flag down is built for fixed city and intercity runs, not for a desert camp at the end of an unmarked track. The driver may have never heard of Caravan by Habitas, may balk at driving the piste, and the fare is open to haggling at the exact moment you hold the least leverage.

Ride-hailing apps run into their own walls out here. Coverage thins as you leave town, drivers cancel once they see the destination sits off-road, and the app often cannot route to a point with no street address at all. Halfway out, with no backup, is a bad place to discover that.
